The geometry of this sling has been analysed in detail using Computer Aided Design, but not only this, it has been tested using live personal to guarantee comfort and dignity at all times.

The cradle sling is one of the most basic slings in the range but is used for very specific situations.

The sling is used where clients do not like to be hoisted, where they feel unsafe or where they don’t like to be handled by care staff. This enables them to feel secure when being hoisted and also have the opportunity of leaving the sling in place. If the sling is required to be left insitu then the sling must be specified with an insitu material. Leaving this sling insitu under the client means that there is less manual handling for the client and care staff .

The sling is also used when a client has 1 or 2 leg amputations which are 6” or more above the knee. Where amputations are greater than 6” above the knee we recommend the cradle sling to ensure maximum safety for every transfer. This is to eliminate the risk of the client falling whilst being hoisted.

It is not able to be applied when the client is seated so needs to be applied when on the bed. This is due to the fact that the sling doesn’t have individual leg sections or an aperture.

The sling offers maximum support under the bottom, however, it is not as easy to remove as any of the other slings.

Padding comes as standard to ensure maximum comfort under the thighs.

Materials

All sling styles within the Nojerm range are available in the specified materials as standard.

The Poly material is the most common and is the most widely used. This material is hard wearing which enhances the life of the sling. This material is not to be left in place under a client for any length of time as it doesn’t contain breathable properties.

The Mesh fabric is a very strong material which offers great draining properties when wet. This enables the sling to be put into a range of different wet environments and yet able to dry very effectively. This material is not to be left in place under a patient for any length of time as it doesn’t contain properties.

The Polysitu material contains a breathable characteristic which enables the material to be left under the client for as long as is required. The materials property inhibits sweating so reducing the potential for the development of pressure sores. It is a very thin material which makes it ideal for use with moulded wheelchairs, wheelchairs and made to measure arm chairs.

The Supreme material contains a breathable characteristic which enables the material to be left under the client for as long as is required. The materials property inhibits sweating so reducing the potential for the development of pressure sores. It is a non-slip material which makes it ideal for use where a client has a tendency to be very active when sitting.
